how to move web site from one server to another serverMightSites seems to change the configuration.php file. Usually, it is easy to edit and move a web site to another domain (for example, domain1.com to domain2.com) by just changing ip addresses, web site name, and other parameters in the configuration.php file.
How to we move it now? What changes do we have to make to move it from one domain to another? Do I have to un-install MightySites? I want to move it to another domain, but don't want to mess up my current configuration.
Re: how to move web site from one server to another serverOkay, tell me if I did this the right way...
In the Joomla root directory, there is the original file called, "configuration.php". Inside the file, it says: <?php require_once(dirname(__FILE__).'/components/com_mightysites/mightysites.php'); Then there is another file called, "configuration_domain01_com.php", where domain01.com is the name of the current web site. 1) So, if I want to move the joomla installation from domain01.com to domain02.com, all I have to do is rename the file "configuration_domain01_com.php" to "configuration_domain02_com.php". 2) Then I edit "configuration_domain02_com.php" and change the ip address, directory structure, and other information, the same way I would edit a regular configuration.php file. Is that correct? That's what I did and it seemed to work. Did I miss anything?
Re: how to move web site from one server to another serverDidn't work. When I go into administrator panel, it says I can only administer domain02.com from domain01.com. What additional steps do I need to take?
Re: how to move web site from one server to another serverYes, you need to rename configuration_domain01_com.php to configuration_domain02_com.php
And you also need to change the domain name in #__mightysites table. Please contact Support Center if you don't know how. Let he without sin throw the first stone.
