Geshi Code Highlighter phpBB Mod

Postby cubefree » December 2nd, 2011, 7:49 pm

Hello,

There is phpBB mod which allows posters to add code highlighting for any programming language rated as EASY 5 minutes.

I had this working perfectly on phpBB3 without p8pBB. Here is copy of my test post BEFORE, so you can see how it should look: http://cubefree.info/forums/5/216?p=990#p990

See the mod info install here: http://cubefree.info/phpBB3/mod/Geshi_highlighter_for_phpBB/install_mod.xml

What's odd is I installed p8pBB jprosilver template for phpBB and followed the mod's instructions, and add this line to the file: [phpBB root]/styles/jprosilver/template/posting_buttons.html

Code: Select all
<input type="button" class="button2" accesskey="c" name="addbbcode8" value="Code" style="width: 40px" onclick="BBGeshi('message','')" title="{L_BBCODE_C_HELP}" />

The only difference in this line from the phpBB's prosilver template is these parts:
    onclick="BBGeshi('message','')" versus
    onclick="bbstyle(8)"

However, when I make these modifications to the p8pBB jprosilver template and clear the cache, I still can't get the post to call the BBGeshi() function when clicking on the CODE button!!

Now, what's really odd is I actually tried deleting the file: [phpBB root]/styles/jprosilver/template/posting_buttons.html. Then I cleared cache and it still loads this line (the original one):

Code: Select all
<input type="button" class="button2" accesskey="c" name="addbbcode8" value="Code" style="width: 40px" onclick="bbstyle(8)" title="{L_BBCODE_C_HELP}" />

I check the source code, and use FireBug... but onclick="bbstyle(8)" is still there!!

Is there something else in p8pBB code that overrides the jprosilver template when highlighting code?

The code button should prompt the poster with "Input language name, for example, CPP for C++", and still does if I set phpBB styles = "prosilver" template as the default.

Can you offer any ideas? I'll happily give you joomla and phpbb admin access. Thanks!

Great bridge, well worth the money.

Clearing browser cache. Joomla cache is not on. Is there phpBB cache as well? Where is it?

The phpBB mod instructions worked after only clearing browser cache.

No, you need to purge phpBB cache as well, there is a link in ACP homepage.
All templates are pre-compiled and stored in /cache folder in phpBB.
