SEF Recommendation?I am wondering what sef for joomla do you recommend? I know sh404sef is popular, though would prefer to not use it, unless it has gotten better in the last few years. This one is 1.6/1.7 ready.
JoomSef (ARTIO s.r.o.) is another common one, and I know a year or two ago you recommended that one. It is 1.6 ready; unsure about 1.7. And last is AceSEF.. I am not knowledgeable about this one, so not sure if it is a good one to use or not. This one is 1.6/1.7 ready as well. Suggestions? Peace, Sarrene' Peace is not what you seek in the world, but what you find within yourself.

Re: SEF Recommendation?Artio JoomSEF looks like most compatible with Joomla.
In fact we never recommend sef extensions, most features are already available in Joomla and no need to use them. All SEF extensions affects website performance, especially with disabled caching. Let he without sin throw the first stone.
Re: SEF Recommendation?Yes, I know about the effect on websites. If I were to go to use one, I would end up increasing my server ram and cpu. I would almost need to.
My main problem I am having is with the bloody menu system and the missing menuid/itemid that we had in 1.5 it makes me sad it is gone... Second reason why I am/was tempted is: I also noticed some standard components that used to have the seo/sef urls when you used the default in 1.5 that is not there now. Or at least on none of the sites I have worked on since 1.6. (ie members, login, and a few others that still say http://site.com/.../component/id/... Ah well.. I will just have to see how things work out in the next few updates. Hopefully I will not have to result to using one. At last I am not the only one that sees a difference when running an sef component with their site. Peace, Sarrene' Peace is not what you seek in the world, but what you find within yourself.

Re: SEF Recommendation? You need to create the menu items for com_users views and use custom templates with correct URLs, i.e. JRoute::_('index.php?Itemid=56) in mod_login for the link to reset password etc.
