More info please on CB integrationCould you explain the integration with Joomla and CB in more detail please.
1. Will the Login and Logout in phpbb3 redirect to CB login and CB Register? 2. Will usernames in phpbb3 redirect to CB profiles? 3. Which settings will be in phpbb3 User Control Panel and which in CB profiles? 4. How is phpbb3 included on site - as a wrapper, frameless etc? 5. Will the phpbb3 forum have a joomla wrapper url? 6. Will a separate template be required for phpbb3 from the joomla template? 7. Can joomla modules be used on the phpbb3 part of the site?
Re: More info please on CB integration
For now we can only redirect the phpBB registration and lost password forms to standard Joomla forms, but next release will have the ability to redirect these forms to any custom URL.
For now we don't have this option, but user's profile (User Control Panel) can be redirected to any custom URL.
Sorry, we don't understand this question: which setting do you mean?
The forum can be shown frameless (like right in the page you are reading now) or in standalone mode (only phpBB is shown - like usual phpBB).
phpBB3 forum will be used as usual extension and accessed by the Joomla menu item.
Frameless mode requires special supplied templates for avoiding CSS conflicts with Joomla template. We don't guarantee that these templates will 100% fit any Joomla template but they should.
[/quote] Yes, please look to the right - we have login and poll modules here in the "right" position assigned for forum menu item. Let he without sin throw the first stone.
Re: More info please on CB integrationGreat thanks for your answers
What I mean is that in the CB profile at the moment is settings for your profile. However, in phpbb3 in the User Control Panel there are also settings for Profile. So can you turn off the profile tab in phpbb3? Can you can turn off private messages if required in phpbb3, and redirect to uddeim private message component instead? Also if you use the CB connections then you would have to turn off friends and foes in phpbb3, is this possible in phpbb3? This way you can integrate phpbb3 better and not have settings doubling up in two different places. So keep all forum settings in the phpbb3 User Control Panel and all profile settings (friends, possibly pm's, profile settings, avatars etc) in the Community Builder settings. I think if you can get this component to integrate well with CB then you will have a very popular product on your hands. I eagerly look forward to the future progress of this component
Re: More info please on CB integrationThank you for these interesting ideas. We appreciate CB much and will try to provide more sychronization options.

Re: More info please on CB integration
I agree with this, and I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for integration with CB. Comprehensive Joomla / phpBB / CB integration has been lacking somewhat. p8pBB is what the community have been waiting for. Certainly that's why I've got my license! Prepare to make a bucket load of cash
Re: More info please on CB integration
IMHO PHPbb3 mailing system is far superior then that of uddiem . A module for Joomla that would display at minimum when you have a PM that would direct you to the PHPb3 forums would be nice . If the modules also contained info showing inbox status , direct link to create new mail .. Either way , slightly more integrated with CB and you have yourself a customer.
Re: More info please on CB integration
yes, i havent had a lot of experience with phpbb3 and so dont know the private message system well, so thats why i wrote if required. it may be that the phphbb3 PM system is better. Although it might be hard to integrate that into other parts of the site (ie Community Builder, Ajax Chat and other components that integrate with UddeIM). Food for thought
Re: More info please on CB integration
Yes, the control panel is adjustable in phpBB3: go to System -> User Control Panel in phpBB admin. You can change the ordering and disable certain modules here. Let he without sin throw the first stone.
Re: More info please on CB integrationWill the next release be able to import CB Avatars? Or is there a way that I could do it now?
Re: More info please on CB integrationinteresting thread. Too bad it was all kinda left hanging.
How many of the otems above are a non issue with the current p8pbb bridge (which I have and use)? Our pm's work perfectly, using phpbb's pm system. We use the ajax shoutbox on all pages, only issue there is if a shout is posted, you lose your "focus" if you were typing something, either in phpbb or even in the shoutbox itself, You have to stick your cursor down again. We don't use a lot of CB, mostly joomla's user profile stuff I think, it all works together pretty well. Avatars are loaded through joomla. I can tell because they are resized automatically, and phpbb doesn't do this. It's interesting because I didn't do the install myself. I do administer the system, and am gradually learning what does what. I went back to these threads for some learning, but it seems many of the issues brought up in this thread in spring of 09 are not an issue for me in fall of 10.
